The Exotic Life of Plants
It’s rare that someone doesn’t respond to flowers. We give them as symbols of our love, send them as offerings of comfort and healing and are often stopped by a sudden glimpse of a rare and striking beauty.
Since just about everything in life is a symbol for me, I have found myself painting these exotic images and wondered what was emerging that I needed to see more clearly. These images float through me from “out of nowhere,” guiding me to be aware of what I sense with my heart now, an emergence of the exotic within myself.
At heart I am a free spirit, one who dreams of far off places both on the Earth and beyond. My fantasies run wild with the sensations of riding bareback on a beach or staring off into the distance from a mountaintop in Peru. These images are both symbols and a messages from my soul asking that I listen and heed their call. They are telling me that I am still a wild stallion at heart, yearning to unleash her animalistic instincts. Enjoy the fantasies. I hope they spark some of your own.
